Red
Sentia Spirits Red is a dark, berry-rich botanical blend from GABA Labs, the drinks-science company founded by Professor David Nutt. Deep and fruit-forward, it is built on an extract of magnolia bark, passionflower, linden, ashwagandha, rhodiola, and damask rose, over a base of blackberry, aronia, and black carrot. A considered, grown-up drink for the evening, for when you want something interesting in the glass and nothing from the bottle of wine.
Tasting Notes
Dark berries lead, blackberry and aronia, with a floral note of rose and a gentle herbal bitterness underneath. It is rich and only lightly sweet, with a dry, lingering finish. Think of it as something between a berry cordial and a bitter aperitif, more grown-up than sweet.
How to serve
Pour a 25ml measure over plenty of ice, top with tonic or soda, and add a twist of orange. A little goes a long way, so treat it the way you would a good vermouth. It is also lovely stirred into an alcohol-free spritz. Keep it in the fridge once opened.
